As a 25 year old, I am now a quarter century old, half way to 50 (and not at all cynical)
.I have decided it is time to prep my skin since this growing older business seems to be inevitable. So naturally I pinged my friends and asked what they did if they did anything to protect their sweet faces. The answers were mixed. I decided heed some of their advice and also do a bit of research.
The Mayo Clinic (my most trusted medical adviser) has a very handy set of rules:
- Protect your skin from the sun. In fact, sun exposure is the No. 1 reason for signs of aging in the skin, including uneven pigmentation.
- Choose products with built-in sunscreen. DUH. Make sure you choose a product that blocks both UVA and UVB rays and is at least SPF 15.
- Don’t smoke. It’s a sure fire way to ruin your lungs and your face in one foul swoop.
- Eat a healthy diet. There is some evidence that certain vitamins in your diet help protect your skin, particularly vitamins A, C, B3 and E.
My anti-aging (for 25 year old) skin plan:
