harvest in napa

Motivated by food, fall color and of course wine, we ventured to Napa this weekend.

Our first stop was Frog’s Leap Winery in Rutherford which consisted of sipping good wine on the porch and walking the grounds.  We then ventured to Sequoia Grove, bought a bottle of Cabernet and lounged on their quiet patio.

Once we felt adequately relaxed and wined, we made our way to Yountville for a late afternoon lunch at Bottega. Truffle burgers, Polenta Under Glass, Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad and enough pasta for 40 was on tap. It was the opposite of a light lunch (view the menu to drool over more options).

After our feast we rolled across the street to the infamous Bouchon Bakery. Eyes always bigger than my stomach I ordered multiple treats for “later”. Content, tired and a few pounds heavier we made our way back to San Francisco. All in all it was the perfect fall day!
