Opa! New Greek flavor has arrived in San Francisco!

Olive branches and sturdy blue and white enamel ware set the scene at the newly opened Soulva in Hayes Valley. On Friday night we were walk-ins, wanting to try something new (Soulva opened mid-April). We we were rewarded with lamb sandwiches, a delightful rosé, and killer Greek fries!

After a recent foodie research trip to Greece, Charles Bililies (an alum of Thomas Keller and Michael Mina ventures) set about opening Soulva inspired by the simple, rustic cuisine of the Greek islands. The menu is short and well-priced and features main courses available as salads or sandwiches, wrapped in Souvla’s housemade, daily-baked pita.

Oh, and did I mention that the front bar that serves wine AND greek frozen yogurt topped with olive oil and sea salt? I was obvioulsy on board with both.

Added bonus, the decor at Soulva is spot on…
