home envy: portland loft

Joan Childs and husband Jerry Zaret have made this imperfect Portland loft space into an impeccable abode. The couples home sits atop a former a printing press and automotive shop. Sticking to the buildings roots the couple set their sights on a clean space with nods to the historic past. Most of the furnishings are reclaimed, vintage, or locally made. The furniture is amazing, however the modern cooks kitchen and statement fireplace have to be my two favorite features in this home.

  1. They showed this home in the “Strib” and I too love the space!!
The windows and light (when not raining) must be fabulous!!
    Two questions:
    1) why would anyone stop skiing in Utah?????
    2) who re-stocks the wood bins?
