A series of tragic family events in 2005 led a New York based DJ back to England where he was named a Earl and handed the deed for a 5,000 acre estate in Dorset county. Mr. Ashley-Cooper—now titled Lord Shaftesbury, took on the renovation of St. Giles House. Built in the late 1600’s the families estate had fallen into disrepair as Mr. Ashley-Coopers’ father had chosen not to live there when he became a Earl in1961 (the home had been uninhabited ever since).
St. Giles House, in desperate need of repair became Mr. Ashley-Cooper passion project and the home was meticulously repaired. He now lives there with his wife and three children in an updated apartment on the estate. The rest of St. Giles House is open to visitors. How cool is that?
