Tadao Ando, the world renowned Japanese architect, is bringing green space to NYC one project at a time. The 152 Elizabeth Street residence located in Nolita, includes a monumental green wall. The luxury seven story, seven residence project is covered with a living green wall measuring 55 feet by 99 feet. The landscape design evolves organically through different seasons, comprising of vines selected for a mix of textures and colors. The plants featured on the wall include: English ivy, Boston ivy, Virginia creepers, jasmine clematis, and climbing hydrangeas. It is pretty amazing to see the work go from rough sketches to a living piece of art. For more on Tadao Ando’s 152 Elizabeth Street check out this site.
