As space (especially in urban areas) is considered more of a luxury, modular living and small space design has taken center stage. Architect Jennifer Siegal began to experiment on her own home while working on a grant for mobile architecture and classrooms. Adding more glass and ventilation from the modular classroom project she was working on, she plotted a residential program.

The idea of prefab homes had long fascinated Siegal as she began to use her own home that she shares with her daughter, Sydney as a test case. She gutted the existing bungalow on the 4,900 square-foot lot and installed a 200 square-foot truck trailer beside it as a mobile office. The results of both her home and office are spectacular.
